3、s,the stressed eye and jitter tolerance tests are corner stone validation items to evaluate the receiver robustness and its compliance with PCIe Base Specification.A stressed eye needs to be first calibrated to determine the stresses such as channel loss, sinusoidal jitter, and differential interferen
4、ce noise to be applied to the receiver input.A valid methodology to calibrate the stressed eye is the measured step-response based eye assessment utilizing peak distortion analysis(PDA)and statistical simulation to evaluate the worst-case eye at the target bit error rate(BER)1.It is crucial that the
5、 step response only contains the channel information and its reflections and no unwanted noise from the oscilloscope, hence measures need to be taken to minimize the impact of instruments on the eye evaluation. This paper discusses challenges and risks of these inaccuracies, observations and learnings
