2、n 2021 and 2023,based on data from Circana.It also presents initial insights into how the 2024 market is developing.We find an acceleration in growth,with the total value of plant-based retail sales increasing by 18%between 2021 and 2023.However,this increase can be attributed largely to inflation a

3、cross the food sector.Despite rising prices,demand for plant-based food remained steady and even increased slightly:unit sales increased by 0.9%and the volume sold increased by 2%between 2021 and 2023.Sales volume grew in five out of eight plant-based product categories between 2021 and 2023,while s

4、ales value grew in seven of those categories over the same period.Plant-based cheese is experiencing particularly striking sales growth.Although still a small and emerging category,more than twice as much plant-based cheese was sold in France in 2023 than in 2021.Plant-based meat is also experiencin

5、g ongoing growth,with an increase of 3.4%in sales volume and 18.2%in sales value between 2022 and 2023.Across all categories for which data is also available for pre-packaged animal-based products(milk,cheese and yoghurt),the plant-based category experienced greater growth in sales volume between 20
